Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Barista to join our team at Caffe Trieste. This role involves preparing high-quality beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), assisting with food preparation, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and alcoholic beverages
• Follow recipes and presentation standards consistently
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and beverage stations

Food Preparation

• Assist with basic food prep (e.g., sandwiches, pastries, cakes, light kitchen items)
• Ensure food quality, freshness, and proper portioning
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards

Customer Service

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Take orders accurately using the POS system
• Handle cash and card transactions efficiently
• Resolve customer concerns with a positive and solution-oriented attitude

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Maintain a clean caffe environment including counters, equipment, and seating areas
• Perform regular cleaning tasks throughout shifts and at closing
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning checklists

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous barista or hospitality experience is an asset (but not required)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
• Attention to detail and consistency
• Comfortable working with both food and alcohol service
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player
